
EC-Merchants who deal in commerce other than the businesses, merchandise,
and services below are considered to have fulfilled the JCB standard of
merchant requirements.
JCB will not accept online merchants offering the sales of goods and/or
services :
- That could in any way be regarded as pornographic, related to gambling
or lotteries, or based on offering a telephone or chat service that
could in any way be regarded as being of a sexual nature.
- That are considered illegal under the laws of the country or area
where cardmembers reside.
EC-Merchants dealing with the following merchandise would have to consult
with us in more detail :
- Food, supplements, or equipment used to promote or improve
health
- Goods or commodities whose price is easily subject to market fluctuations
( For example, gold, platinum, stocks etc.)
- Cosmetics and drugs which could be confiscated by customs of the
country where cardmembers reside.

JCB will require all EC-Merchants to use a security system for the transmission
of transaction data incorporating credit card information over the Internet
or over only other open network.

A merchant must ensure that any transmission of information with Cardmember's
information between Cardmember and Merchant over the Internet (including
third party processores which
process transactions on behalf of Merchant) must be protected by using
encryption measures such as SSL ("Secure Socket Layered")
and adequate firewall protection.
