China Everbright Bank Launches JCB Branded Sunshine
Business Travel Card
Beijing, China, 2007-10-23 - China Everbright Bank (CEB) and JCB International Co., Ltd. (JCBI), a wholly owned subsidiary of JCB, announced the launch of the Sunshine Business Travel Card on October 22, 2007. The new card is the first JCB corporate card issued with a Chinese partner bank specifically targeting local enterprises and it is the second JCB dual-currency card issued by CEB following the card issued in cooperation with Trends Group in February this year.
The Sunshine Business Travel Card embodies the concept of “Innovative Business Travel Management”. It only takes 3 steps to utilize this card. First, companies apply for cards on behalf of employees. Second, employees pay the bill with a credit card. Third, the company's finance department reimburses the expenses through POS (point of sale) system. This new business travel card not only offers cash-free financial management to companies, but also a considerable cost savings through its ability to streamline business travel.
According to Report of Chinese Business Travel Management 2006, China’s business travel market ranked third globally over the past five years. Additionally, business travel costs ranked second highest among business costs, and business travel expenses reached USD 740 million in 2005. The Sunshine Business Travel Card is one of CEB's key business credit card products providing excellent service for cardmembers, including various reimbursement options, card designs and account currencies. Moreover, for those enterprises or public institutions that issue over 1,000 cards, their logos can be printed on the card, enhancing individual corporate branding.
Employees can book flights and hotels in advance through CEB’s hotline 95595 or the website using their Sunshine Business Travel Cards. They can also enjoy special discounts and free city-wide ticket-delivery service provided by CEB. When purchasing tickets or paying over 80% in travel fee using the card, employees can also receive aviation accident insurance of RMB 500,000 to 5 million free of charge. The Sunshine Business Travel Card is a dual-currency international corporate credit card, and is payable with RMB or USD. Cardmembers can use the card at JCB and China UnionPay merchants. JCB has a merchant network of more than 13 million merchants and a million ATMs in over 190 countries and territories worldwide.
A spokesperson of CEB emphasized the idea of “changing according to need” and said, “China Everbright Bank always provides diverse services for its clients. And we will commit ourselves to providing better services for cardmembers to meet their changing needs. We have noticed that many enterprises’ business travel management systems need improvement. The Sunshine Business Travel Card issued with JCB brand will solve this problem and provide a platform for enterprises to communicate with employees.”
Mr. Toshifumi Ooka, the Chief Representative of JCBI Beijing Representative Office, said, “Because China’s credit card market is developing fast towards diversification, we are providing more products to meet clients’ different needs. China Everbright Bank is a large and strong nationwide bank in China and JCB is one of the world’s leading credit card brands. This new JCB branded card presented by CEB is the first corporate card targeting Chinese enterprises and public institutions since JCB entered the market to meet the needs of local customers. Since entering the mainland market in 1982, we have been committed to providing unique and convenient services for cardmembers and contributing to China’s credit card industry.”
